Pitch

As a freelance developer at SDC, I worked full-time on-site in Ballerup via Miracle Buddyshop within a small team of four people, where I delivered ETL and backend development in a Teradata environment for a data warehouse implementation centered around Calypso. The focus was on efficient data processing and integration, combined with the ongoing optimization of ETL workflows and backend processes, in close collaboration with the data architect and project manager.

Key outcomes

Work in detail

Other framework: Scope: Full time; Employment type: Freelance via broker (Miracle Buddyshop); Work style and location: 100% on-site in Ballerup; Core delivery: ETL development in a Teradata environment with a focus on efficient data processing and integration, support for the data architect with data modeling, and optimization of ETL workflows and backend processes, delivered as a data warehouse implementation centered around Calypso.

Purpose and context

The task involved delivering ETL and backend for a data warehouse implementation regarding Calypso, where the focus was on having data processed efficiently and integrated stably in a Teradata environment, and where the solution was built within the framework of IBM's System of Records model, which provided structure for the data foundation and modeling.

ETL development and performance

My delivery was primarily ETL development in Teradata, where data flows and transformation logic were built and further developed with a focus on performance and stability, making execution more predictable and ensuring that central processes could run reliably in a setup with large data volumes.

Collaboration with architect and project manager

I worked in a small team of four people, with primary interfaces to the data architect and project manager, where tasks were clarified quickly, and where my role was to translate requirements and modeling into concrete data flows and backend processes.

Data quality as a later discipline

During the period, the focus was on getting the foundation in place and making flows run stably, while actual data quality was more of a later discipline because Calypso was not yet fully developed as a system and thus did not provide a stable basis for final validations.
